The 25th December is fast approaching - and although we decided to postpone our last Foundations session of 2017 (so as to make time for local Church outreach), I wanted to wish us all a very merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
Looking forward towards Spring 2018, we've a lot to be excited about.
In January we'll complete our study of Christology. We'll look at the Incarnation of the Son of God - how it factors within the wider Biblical story, how the NT authors ransacked their theological vocabularies just to describe it, and how the early Church wrestled with their understanding of Jesus. (Resulting in many of the creeds familiar to us today - including the Nicene Creed of 325AD!)
Between February and Easter, we'll undertake a five-part series on Soteriology - the doctrine of salvation. And, oh boy, we'll be covering a lot of ground!
Along the way we'll still be meeting to exegete 2 Timothy and twice to enjoy our heritage in Christ, by reading an important work from Church history.
That's all to come next year. In the meantime, all that's left is for me to wish you a very merry Christmas. Can't wait to see you all in 2018!
